  We started attending close to 2 years ago and laid low the first year to see if the church match the message. After a year we started volunteering with the children because it did. The pastoral team wants to see people grow deeper and have a real personal relationship with Jesus and live in community. Our 2 kiddos love the children's classes and AWANA and my wife and I enjoy the depth of the messages and relationships.

  My wife and I have been attending Bethany since 2005. From the moment my wife, I and our newborn stepped foot in the front door, we have felt like part of a wonderful, welcoming family. The entire staff from top on down is so gracious, approachable, kind, thoughtful and caring and always take the time to talk to us. Bethany staff were with us through our son's brain tumor pre-surgery, resection surgery and recovery with special prayers and visits in the hospital. Our children have asked Jesus into their hearts at VBS! I am a proud member of the fantastic worship team, lending my hands to the drumset whenever I am fortunate enough to be able to play. My wife leads VBS music and helps with music for Sunday school. We love this church and are so thankful and blessed to have found a home with Bethany!

  Our family spent some time looking at several different churches after having to leave another local church due to severe leadership problems and complete lack of accurate teaching from the Bible. We ended up at Bethany and found it to be a place of healing for us.
  Interestingly enough, our experience over the last 18 months has been the exact opposite of that shared by Michael Hogge in his recent review. I'm not sure what expectations he brought with him, but we experienced a very humble leadership team and staff. All very approachable and never felt judged. Never felt pressured or looked down on based on our financial abilities, gifts or skills.
  We found it very much to be a place where the leadership of the church supported each other and live out the life they are called to. If I was to say anything negative at all it would be that I think the staff is stretched very thin based on the amount of ministry that happens here. But...I have never heard any of them complain about this.
  I have seen first hand the desire from the staff that the people of the church become active disciples and help them to find ways to learn more, connect with each other and find ways to serve each other and the community that fit with their individual gifts.
  It has been a long time since I have been at a church where the generosity of the people is so evident both within the church, community and the world. God is moving and working at Bethany. So if you are looking for a place to call home, people you can worship with, play with, learn with and love with, this church should be your next stop.

  Need to find a church home that isn't solely focused on families & doesn't exclude singles who don't own homes, don't have children, don't have big bank accounts or property, aren't "snooty patooty" & don't gossip behind folks' backs, aren't disrespectful & dismissive of old-er adults like myself as the staff here at Bethany Baptist in Puyallup definitely are, particularly so in the case of the current men's fellowship class leader who also frequently uses profane & vulgar language in class. Senior Pastor is not the most approachable. Left them a week ago after being there for over 18 months including serving as a volunteer leader for 16+ months in Children's Ministry (only volunteer to serve at two different services on both weekend days) & they haven't even bothered to contact me once to see why or if I would reconsider...I will not be back & would not recommend this church...to top it all off, received a call a week after this post from a person who identified themselves as a church board member who said they do search engine optimization work, reviews negative search engine reviews, found my review here & who directly stated & sought to advise me during the call that, by naming myself in my negative review here; that it could have potentially negative consequences on my employment potential based on employer reviews of the internet ~ which borders highly, imho, on being illegal on religious grounds based on employment protections found within the US Constitution! At the very least, I find this stance to be completely outrageous, unethical, threatening, ridiculous & egregiously insulting & disgusting ~ spiritually, ethically & morally, on their part!

  I've been attending Bethany Baptist for a few years now and I could not ask for a better church home! Everyone is warm and inviting, the teaching is insightful and accessible, and, most importantly, my children can wait to come to church each week. I couldn't ask for more than that.
